About Candidate

I am a new graduate osteopath (officially; 24/06/2022), currently residing in the UK. I was trained at the University College of Osteopathy and am now looking to expand my horizons and see what osteopathy outside the UK has to offer.

I firmly believe in developing my clinical skills to provide my patients with the necessary tools to achieve their desired outcomes as well as being mouldable, sitting in-between the realms of; evidence-informed medicine, clinical experience and patient values.

I am currently exploring my clinical interests in pain science and functional rehabilitation, whilst mixing in structural osteopathic concepts to deliver a bespoke multi-modal treatment approach tailored to the needs of my patients. I wish to align myself with Individuals who can help me develop the knowledge base and clinical application.

Possessing a history of working with high-performance athletes and previously being one. I have developed a deep area of interest in how sports engagement may affect the maturation of pre/peri and post-pubescent children. I have written my dissertation topic on; the outcomes of overuse Injuries in adolescent athletes who engage in early sport specialisation and would love to discuss this area of interest with like-minded professionals.

I would love to expand my understanding in research areas regarding – over and under-exposure in physical activity. Eventually designing programs which enable children and young adults to fully engage with the appropriate amount of movement to maximise their potential. As well as expanding my general understanding of effectively working with athletic and paediatric patients.

In terms of tangible goals, I see myself gaining as much clinical experience over the next 5-10 years, which will afford me the opportunity to open my own multi-disciplinary practice.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours Sincerely,

Demri Mitchell.
